Broad Bean – Witkiem Manita
This is a great alternative to the popular Aquadulce which is sown in November, this is the rescue plan. In most years it matures almost as early as Aquadulce, but from an early spring sowing.
Sow from February to April. February sowings can be made in pots or root trainers in the greenhouse or under cloches in the growing site. For later sowings, draw out seed drills direct into the growing site 5cm deep in rows, spacing the seeds 10-15cm apart, and the rows 60cm apart.
