Chives
Organic Seed. Chives are a very popular herb with its familiar mild onion flavour. The leaves and the flowers are both used in salads and cooking.
Grow the seeds all year round on the windowsill. Sow the seed 0.5cm deep in pot. Cover with a thin layer of compost. Germination will take 2 – 3 weeks at 15 – 20C. For an outdoors crop you can transplant after hardening off or sow direct from April onwards in shallow seed drills. Thin to 15 – 20cm apart.
